The Pokémon franchise teaches values, resilience, and personal growth, showing that lessons can come from unexpected sources.
Since its inception in the late 1990s, Pokémon has captivated millions with its engaging gameplay, imaginative world, and relatable characters. Beyond the surface of catching and training creatures, the franchise offers profound insights that resonate with players of all ages.
I don’t need to explain how deep my Pokémon lore goes, but I’m happy to share. I’ve been playing Pokémon since Red/Blue. I got back into the franchise during the launch of Pokémon Go. Day 1 player right here, Team Instinct! I bought a subscription to the Pokémon Channel and caught back up on the series. I collect and play the trading card game when I can. My first console game after getting back into the franchise was Sword/Shield on Nintendo Switch, and I’ve been playing faithfully ever since.
What I appreciate most about Pokémon is how each game can reflect our own lives, guiding us through lessons that illustrate themes of perseverance, friendship, and self-discovery. These themes are not confined to the gaming world but resonate in our everyday lives.
