The total rehaul: erasure, redemption, and validation

When we talk about a total rehaul, we often think of a strategy or process — a tactic to enhance or transform.

But, the total rehaul of gpacheco.org is a story of erasure, redemption, and validation.

This story will manifest itself in many forms, from personal life experiences to large-scale projects.

Whatever the case, it will be a story of renewal, growth and hope.

Now that I’ve got that corniness out of the way allow me to reintroduce myself.

Hi, my name is…

Hello, bonjour, guten tag, aloha, kamusta na, my name is Guilliean Pacheco.

I’m a writer, editor, and early career journalist.

I have an MFA in Creative Writing.

I have a dog named Jack and a boyfriend named D.

I’ve had this domain for over 12 years.

It’s acted as the starting point for every creative project that bled from my fingertips over the years, but I could never get a handle on the whole blogging thing.

This is a funny confession because I was writing my earliest blogs on CuteNews.

Does anyone remember that?

What happened to Makata?

I’ve deleted everything that used to exist here.

I plan to keep the portfolio part of this site alive, so there are some things that I will filter back into the mix as the weeks go by.

But I realized that I’ve floundered in blogging because I didn’t have a cohesive theme.

What’s the new name?

Enter the new site title: Gilly Runs a Marathon or GRAM for short.

I decided I needed to shake things up in my personal life.

I wanted a place to document it, so why not take it to the (digital) streets?

I guess I also wanted accountability.

If I want to make this work, I have to devote my time and energy to it for real.

I’m still narrowing down the categories I want to focus on, but I want to touch on topics like fitness, wellness, sustainability, etc.

What’s next?

So, I thank you for your patience while I sort out the new roof and walls here.

I appreciate you sincerely.
