One of my favorite songs from my childhood was “Somewhere Out There” from An American Tail. I define most of my childhood by the music I listened to. I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie, but this song continues to give me frisson after all these years. fris·son /frēˈsôn/ noun a sudden strong feeling of excitement or fear; a thrill. It makes you feel nostalgic for a place that may never have existed. Is there a song from your childhood that sticks with you to this day? This meme is too good not to share. The featured image is a bar of three different colors on a blue background. The largest section of the bar is white, with the caption: I’ve no idea what I’m doing. The middle section of the bar is lime green, with the caption: PANIC. The tail end of the bar is a slightly darker green, with the caption: I’ve no idea how I did it. If that doesn’t nail the creative process, then I don’t know what does! Did you hear? This blogathon is sponsoring a donation drive to the Animal Foundation. They’re not sponsoring me, I simply want to get the word out. If you do donate something – anything is appreciated – shout it out below. I’m gonna tell the world in a future entry!
I must confess that I’m not much of a holiday celebrant. They’re just another day to me. The magic of any chirpy holiday was lost on me by the end of elementary school when I stopped getting thoughtful gifts and began receiving gifts from the gift closet. You know, the gift closet. The ones you keep on hand to make sure no one feels left out because you weren’t expecting them to show up because you stopped putting them on your gift-giving list ages ago. Then, I started working in hospitality. That meant being open for regular business hours, come rain or shine. It also meant holiday pay. Who am I to turn down extra money? So, I’ll eat leftovers in the comfort of my own house long after the party has ended. Sounds like my kind of night! I never let the bastards get me down though. You can…
As the proud owner of a Kindle, I’ve basically compressed my library to fit on it. I love being able to take it wherever I go. This year, I’m participating in a few reading challenges. I’m already behind on my Shakespeare one. But I’m making headway on the Agatha Christie one. So, here’s what I’m currently reading: What are YOU reading right now? Are you enjoying it? Have you donated to the Animal Foundation yet? Let me know in the comments below!
